The above story reminds me of this YouTube video. Not sure if I posted it before. It's about Joan by her closest friends.

I couldn’t agree more that Joan Crawford was an amazing person to all the people she worked with. She was a real professional in both her careers and went above and beyond just doing what was expected of her. No other actress treated her fans with such love and dedication. She spent countless hours sending them letters, birthday and Christmas cards and autographed photos. She gave her time and money to many charities. No one has been able to live up to her incredible reputation. ❤️

On the one hand, I think she would be mortified about Instagram, Facebook, etc. On the other, if it kept her in touch with her fans, the people who made her a star, then I think she would have used whatever means was at hand.

I wondered about that too. I think that the older Joan would have preferred to use snail mail to reply to her friends and fans. The young Joan would have been on different internet connections.

Given that Joan was cited numerous times for late-night drunk phone-calls, I'm afraid that she might have been an all-too-willing participant in the very-available social media! Much to her chagrin the next day!
