A couple of days ago, I went to the Netflix site to FINALLY sign up for their streaming service (like everyone else in the world). But before I officially signed up, I did a search for "Joan Crawford" in their library... NOTHING! And then I did another search for "Mary Tyler Moore Show"... NOTHING!
What?! To me, those are "basics"!
Then I saw that Netflix still had their old-school "DVDs by mail" service (I used to subscribe to this up until 2007, when I moved to NYC and then had to save money). The old-fashioned DVD mail service library had 21 Joan movies (and all MTM seasons but two). I then did some more research online and discovered that the Netflix streaming service only has about 4,000 titles total, whereas the DVD service has 90,000 titles! So, I went for the old-school 90,000-title option, like back in the 2007 day!
I do own every available Joan movie on my own DVD---but it's the principle of the thing! If streaming is leaving out Joan Crawford, then who/what else are they omitting?! So until Netflix cancels their DVD mailing service, I'm going to enjoy plenty of classics, documentaries, Independent films, etc.
