So I have been fascinated by Joan’s final apartment she moved into in 1973. I was wondering if anyone has information about it past what most sites have? I have seen the architectural digest photos however I just wanted to know if people know about more of the furniture arrangements which I have tried to piece together myself using the floorplan. I know she had a backgammon table and it seems since 22H was only a two bedroom and the second room was used as some sort of dressing room/walk in closet and the architectural digest photos cover the main living/dining area so I am wondering if she kept the backgammon table from 22G. I also really wish to know what the bathrooms in 22H looked like. Were they the standard imperial house bathroom fixtures or different. I also wish I knew what her kitchen looked like because that seems to have no information. I also wish that these questions were easier to find answers to but it makes sense so little information is held on it considering her lifestyle in the waning years.

Have you checked out the website "Concluding Chapter of Crawford" (I think that's the name)? They have a lot of focus on her NYC years.

I have seen the concluding chapter of crawford actually. I really wanna try and piece together the full appearance of 22H because I want to make a 3D model of it. I just can’t seem to find anything regarding the appearance of her kitchen which I actually can’t figure out the layout because it isn’t labeled on the floorplan of 22H. I am trying to figure out especially whether she had a single range stove or a wall oven and stovetop or whether she had one or two doors on her wall oven if thats the case.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but is there enough information from her interviews and books to completely define the layout of the larger apartment Joan lived in before she moved into 22H?

I’ve seen photos of her apartment including the kitchen. I think it was in her book, “My way of life.” I just checked it “My way of Life” The book has a lot of photos of her apartment, but I didn’t see her kitchen. I know I’ve seen it before. Let me think about it. I know another book written about Joan in her last year or two of her life, but I cant think of the name of it right now. The author initials were C.J. He was sent to Joan’s last apartment to help her organize her books. He played a lot of backgammon with her as they drank bloody Mary’s made by Momacita. I think he gave her a backgammon table or something else relating to the game. She gave him a Pepsi cooler. I have that book too. I’ll have to dig it out of my collection and see if there are any photos of her kitchen for you. I think the refrigerator was see through glass, but it shows stainless steel in the photo Miss Admin Stephanie found. I think she had a double built in wall oven. Let me dig out the book as soon as I get the chance and see if it was in there. I hope that I can help you with your Joan Crawford related project. I’m sure we would love for you to post it for us. If you want to. Ok, I found the book I was looking for. 1979 “Crawford- The Last Years”, by Carl Jones. Once I started to page through it I remembered how much I loved the book. When I first read it I was actually laughing out loud. I recommend it to all Joan Crawford fans. Unfortunately, there are no photos. I’ll keep looking and try to find that kitchen for you. Calling on all Joan Crawford fans to the rescue. We have to help our friend with this.

I wish I could find someone who actually saw the inside of 22H especially the more private parts like the kitchen and bathrooms. It is just hard and nearly impossible because first you have to find someone or someone who knows a person and then you have the issue of the age and the high possibility of having no information of them online. It also is gonna be harder as 1977 was 44 years ago. It also is hard due to a lot of people not remembering tiny details like bathrooms and kitchens.

I just remembered that her grandson Casey LaLonde. Google him. He was there and would be proud in your project and hopefully has photos or remembers her apartment.
