I've been watching a few of the movies of Carole Lombard, so I thought I would watch the film that Joan made in her stead after Lombard's tragic death in a plane crash at the age of 33.
Joan didn't do many comedies. Off the top of my head, Love on the Run comes to mind. Any others?
Melvin Douglas looks like he's gonna be funny. Billie Burke too.

The jitterbug scene with the hot dogs dancing on the griddle is hilarious! 😂

Have been reading up on other Joan comedies after watching TAKTB.The other Joan comedies mentioned, which I'm not really sure are comedies...
Untamed 1929 - there are funny bits, especially with Bob Montgomery on the boat. But, I think the dramatic bits outweigh the comedic contents.
The Women 1939 - similar thoughts as above.
Her 1928 movies with William Haines? Billie gets most of the laughs. Joan was more like the "straight man"
Love on the Run? Susan and God? I think the former might be her most comedic role among her films I've seen. Any other Joan comedies that I should be on the lookout for?

Well, in the mid-'30s, I would consider this string of MGM films to be lighthearted "romantic comedies":
Dancing Lady ('33) Forsaking All Others ('34) No More Ladies ('35) I Live My Life ('35) Love on the Run ('36)
And then post-the above: The Women, Susan and God, They All Kissed the Bride, and the '49 cameo in "It's a Great Feeling."
