Driving nearby for work, so I took a quick detour and a few drive-by photos. Sad to see the house in such poor shape.
Hmm. Files too big.

Oh Tom It is so sad 😞. I wish that someone will save it. Is the rest of the neighborhood in the same shape?

The immediate houses are, but some of the others in the neighborhood are quite nice. It's by no means gentrified, but from my drive-by, it looks to have shifted from residential to commercial. At a minimum, you'd think they might put an historical marker up or something, but then again, it's kind of pricy, especially in these tough times. www.okhistory.org/about/markerprogram

Sad but interesting. Not just thinking about what the home must have looked like while Billie Cassin lived there (pre-WWI) but also today's boarded-up windows versus 2006 and 2016 photos of the same place: www.joancrawfordbest.com/geography.htm#lawton

It seems even more derelict than I recalled from the most recent pictures on BOE. It was a very "uneven" neighborhood. Some houses seemed nice, some less so. A lot of businesses mixed with what appeared to be residences.

Well, your Nov. 2021 shot may be the last photo of the house still standing, Tom! Google Maps has a series of photos of the address, and their last one with the house still standing was dated May 2019. The very next shot they have, from May 2022, shows an empty lot. Years ago, I used to have a fantasy about one day buying up either the San Antonio house or the Lawton house and making a Joan museum out of it! And that wasn't TOTALLY crazy, since those properties were pretty decrepit. Alas...
