On TCM! One of my favorite early Joan talkies. TCM has a great article on this film by Jay Carr. A bit too Gable-centric but that's OK, JC seemed liked him! www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/3338/dance-fools-dance#articles-reviews?articleId=637756Favorite passage from the above... When he goes to kiss her the first time, she turns her face and he kisses a cheek. Another try, another cheek kiss. The third time, she doesn't turn away. The long, juicy kiss on the lips has, for want of a better word, voltage. Voltage my foot! Those two coulda charged a Tesla in about 5 seconds flat !

I just watched 1931 Dance Fools Dance. By the time this movie came out, Joan had more blue ribbon winning dance trophies than probably anyone else in Hollywood. To her credit it paid off very well in her dance number in this movie. This was her and Clark’s first out of eight movies together. I’m so glad that this movie worked so well that they were able to work together on seven more movies. You know that they are my all time favorite Hollywood couple.

I enjoy this movie a little bit more each time I watch it. It's almost like Jazz Baby Joan of the 20s is morphing into plucky, upwardly mobile JC of the 30s in about the hour it takes to get through this movie!
