I have the new book in my Amazon cart. Next month is my birthday so that will be my birthday gift for myself. Can’t wait to read it.

I have the new book in my Amazon cart. Next month is my birthday so that will be my birthday gift for myself. Can’t wait to read it. Author Garza Bernstein actually interviewed me via e-mail (re why the current fascination with Joan, etc.) while he was working on the book, and was kind enough to send me a free copy! I just finished reading it a few days ago (and, of course, immediately turned to the index to see if I was listed there---I am!) I hope to post my review of the book both on the BOE website and on Amazon shortly. (I've taken notes but have not yet started writing it.) Happy upcoming birthday, David!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I’m glad you were interviewed for the book. That shows how much all your hard work paid off. I can wait to read it.

The book has great photos. The movies are listed in chronological order. Very brief description of the movie plot and then list all of the movie credits which can take up to one page. Some of the movies also has reviews from different newspapers and movie magazines and our admin Miss Stephanie. Some movies are listed multiple times with what it may have been like if Joan were alive today. There are movies out there that I did not know about and they are listed under multiple formats. I’ll have to check that out more. There are some behind-the-scenes Juice but very careful to stick to the facts. The book wasn’t what I thought it would be, but I’m glad to have read it.

Here's my full review that I posted on BOE (and also on Amazon). I liked the book overall (I think Garza Bernstein is a very good writer), but didn't loooove it. And I really hated all of those "if Joan had starred in 'Barbie' bits at the end of every section---seemed to be unnecessarily striving WAY too hard for "relevance," when in fact "Barbie" won't be remembered 5 years from now, for example, yet we're all still talking about Joan Crawford nearly 100 years after her arrival in Hollywood! My ego "forced" me to go to the index to see if I had any mentions! Index lists 5 pages, but as I read, found that I was also quoted on 2 more!

I liked your review. I totally agree with you I also like Barbie, but I know what you mean. Joan Crawford is the Queen.
