I have to start with this one; Imagine Joan alive in the 90s. I like to think she'd give Bette a call, especially after My Mother's Keeper came out, and let's face it; Bette would get flowers or a card at least after her strokes in the 80s! I would also have liked to see her being showered with awards simply for being alive basically, like with most golden age actors.

Joan on Bette in "Conversations": So, YES, I agree that Joan and Bette could have had a rapprochement in their Golden Years---had Bette allowed it! (Bette might've indeed felt more sympathy for Joan after "My Mother's Keeper.") I've read many quotes from Joan that were more than tolerant, and sometimes complimentary, of Bette. But Bette seemed to have truly disliked Joan---so I don't know if she would have been open to any latter-day comradery! One worry I have about Joan had she been alive once computers and social media came into being: LATE NIGHT DRUNK POSTS!

LATE NIGHT DRUNK POSTS!!! 🤣. I love it! Can you imagine what a great new past time that would be for her?! I’d pay to read them.
