I just finished reading “The Joan Crawford Monsters” by Peter Joseph Swanson. peterjosephswanson.weebly.com/ I found it to be a very fun fictional read. I didn’t care if the facts, dates and timelines are not all accurate. I have all her biographical books. When I read this book I overlooked inaccuracies and kept reading and looked forward to turn the next page to see what happens to our Miss Joan. I enjoyed it and maybe some of you will too. You can make it a part of your Joan collection.

I read Peter Joseph Swanson- The Joan Comics. I liked the artwork, but the captions not so much. I ordered Peter Joseph Swanson - The Joan Crawford Murders. When I opened the first page it said that this is book 2 of the Tinseltown Trilogy. So I went on Amazon to purchase it and once I saw the cover of it, I remembered I had it. Amazon had only one left in stock and it costs $768.00. I purchased The Tinseltown Trilogy book years ago for about $20.00. Jackpot! I found it! Now I’m reading the The Joan Crawford Murders with a Cheshire Cat grin on my face. It’s a fun fictional book that I’m enjoying. I am a very grateful Joan Crawford fan and thankful for my Joan collection. Ok, back to reading my Joan Crawford Murders book. I wanted to share my good news with you guys and not sound like I’m bragging, ✌️❤️😊

I finished reading The Murders by Peter Joseph Swanson. I really enjoyed it to the point that I would only read a chapter or two a day to make it last. I went to my Joan Crawford DVD collection to watch 1953 Torch Song. I found it in one of my TCM boxed set collection of Joan movies. After about three quarters of the way through it the DVD. It wouldn’t play. I tried it several times with no luck. I went on Amazon and purchased another DVD. I’ll get it in a couple of weeks. I hope it works and is in English. So, I stayed up way too late and watched Harriet Craig. As I was watching it I realized I knew almost all of the script. Last night I stayed up again way too late and watched TCM - Mary Pickford 1923 Rosita. I’m not really into silent movies, but I very much liked it. She was Joan’s mother in law for 4 years. I kept thinking about them and their relationship while I was watching it. It was worth the price I’m paying this morning at work for staying up so late. Bring on the coffee, I mean Pepsi.

I got my Torch Song DVD yesterday. I watched it last night. I loved Marjorie Burnet Rambeau. She played the part of Jenny’s, (Joan’s) mom. She’s a hoot. I also got some special features with the DVD. One is Joan singing in the recording booth and she sounds great. I think that they could have spliced the best parts of her voice and used it in the movie. They used India Adams voice instead. I’m a true Joan Crawford fan and I would have loved to hear Joan sing as much as I’m sure Joan wanted her own singing voice used in the movie. The one thing I thought about the film is I don’t believe that it could be made today due to the fact that they used black face makeup while she sang the song and dance number to Two-Faced Woman. I’m glad that I have purchased the DVD before they take it off the shelves.

I’m glad that I have purchased the DVD before they take it off the shelves. TCM just showed "Torch" recently...Decades ago, when I first saw it, I hated it, but this time I found it very entertaining! (Why the hatred years ago? I think because I was young and serious, and wanted Joan to appear young and beautifully serious. Nowadays, I appreciate Joan's doing what she can do!) I don't particularly like India Adams' voice---a bit throaty and over-dramatic. Joan's voice was passable---today, they surely could have mixed hers. RE black-face: Well, technically, she was playing a South Seas Islander in that number, so... "brown face." But, yeah, get it before the Commie censors remove it from distribution! p.s. Speaking of Commie censors: Anyone here a fan of "The Office"? Notice what the censors at Comedy Central deleted from a Christmas show?

I've also seen Donna Nowak's "Joan Appreciation" book listed on Amazon for hundreds of dollars...It ain't worth hundreds of dollars!

Ok, don’t hate me, but only to add to my collection of Everything related to Joan Crawford, both good and bad; I purchased through Amazon - The Mommie Dearest Diary -- Carol Ann Tells All. Rutanya Alda's book, all about the nightmare of playing Joan Crawford's faithful maid opposite Faye Dunaway in the notorious 1981 camp classic. I enjoyed it because as you know me by now, I love the behind the scenes juice of the movies. This had a lot of juice. I’m not promoting the book I just wanted to check it out for myself and I’m so glad I did.
