Thanks Tom It’s funny because last night I was thinking why they never married. You know I love them together more then any other couple. It could have been due to so many things. I’m not sure if there is a quote of Joan or Gable ever talking about it? Let me know if you find anything. I wonder if it was because they were married to other people? Bad timing? Louis B Mayer’s warring? Jealous issues when the other is away? They looked so naturally in love in both on screen and off screen photos. I truly believe they had a special love for each other in real life. Perhaps they thought it was best to be with each other as friends with benefits. Why not? They were ahead of their time. I love them both!!! Let me know what you guys think the reason is that they never married. Not Tom, but just my two cents: As you said, they obviously got along well, and genuinely liked each other, and had great sexual chemistry. But then there's the quote from Gable about Joan: "She swings more balls than I do." Some men might want that characteristic in a wife, but I don't think that Gable necessarily did. As a star himself, he had his own ego...and it doesn't seem like Joan's foremost goal was to stroke his; she was much more concerned with herself. (His wife Carole Lombard was also a big star, but I think that Joan was more personally driven... and thus not a great partner for a man equally driven. One person in a partnership has to be at least slightly more submissive.) That said: I think they might have married if not for LB Mayer's warning. But again: Both Gable and Joan were hard-headed realists and not "Romantics." Their careers came first to both of them.

She was beyond beautiful. I’m thinking of putting together a huge conical college of her photos on the walls of my bathroom. I have probably close to 100 photos of her and her with other famous people. All the name and dates are noted on each photo. I think others would enjoy it. I would love to start my day off with the beauty of Miss Joan Crawford amongst me. I first need to find out how properly do this for my walls. I’ll take and post photos of it when I ever get a chance to find the time. Perhaps my new year project? I’ll use Joan as my muse and decorating inspiration from one of her best friends - Billy Haines. But why the BATHROOM, David?? I currently have two Martin Kreloff prints of Joan up on my living room wall. And an 8 X 12 bra ad on my closet wall. Looking forward to seeing photos of your collage, wherever it might be!
